You may be right re Heathrow, however I've checked Google and it looks like requests to the Civil Aviation Authority about airports are covered.

I’m trying to cast my mind back to what the weather was like on that day. I’d imagine there were flow rate restrictions which resulted in Heathrow instructing airlines to tactically cancel fights and it’s short haul that bears the brunt.

Geoff. If the airlines (and I mean all of them) said it was sunny I bet it snowed. I wouldn't trust any of them to be honest or forthcoming with the truth.

Just had a look on euclaim.co.uk. which lists flights due compensation on dates of the month but no information on your dates, may be worth a look though.
