Universal changes Front of Line Pass for Hotel Guests

Guests staying at one of Universals Orlando Hotels were previously allowed to use their room key card as a unlimited Express Pass in both Universal Orlando and Islands of Adventure theme parks. However the benefit was being misused by guests not entitled to it.

Universal has addressed this misuse by changing the system. On-site hotel guests will no longer show their room key card for Universal Express Unlimited attraction access. Instead, they will use special new kiosks located at each on-site hotel and at both theme parks to print a pass which includes their photo.

This helps to ensure this valuable benefit is being used by those for whom it is intended. These new kiosks are now operational, and are located at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure Guest Services as well as in the lobbies inside of each on-site hotel: Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, and Loews Royal Pacific Resort. Additional kiosks will be coming later to select locations within the parks.

ha ha I flew on here when I read the first part of the link of facebook. Not done Universal in about ten years and planning a two night stay this year simply for the passes to see Harry Potter.

If people are abusing the system then this should make things more efficient for those of us that are not.

do you know if this will have to be done on a daily basis or will the new pass cover the duration of the stay?
will it be a paper pass or plastic or a card pass... thinking of all the water rides.
