Universal Harry Potter expansion
Universal Orlando hasn't released any official information or commented on the construction that is happening at the site of the old 'Jaws' attraction. However the rumours circulating are that this is a Harry Potter expansion, specifically Diagon Alley leading to hogwarts express.
Hogwarts Express will transport guests between This new Harry potter area in Universal Studios to the The Wizzarding World of Harry Potter in Islands of Adventure Website themeparkinsider has stated that it has seen some plans of the area and has written an article detailing the plans for the area.

Diagon Alley will be hidden from the rest of the park behind the facades of Grimmauld Place, Wyndham's Theatre and other west end London landmarks. Only when you go through the adjacent Leicester Square station will you happen upon the "secret" entrance to the land, next to the Leaky Cauldron.
The Leaky Cauldron will be the new land's restaurant. Ollivander's is in in Diagon Alley and on a much larger scale than in the Hogsmeade outpost in the Islands of Adventure Wizarding World. Knockturn Alley comprises about one-third of the land, with Borgin and Burkes as its centerpiece. Shops will include Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions and Wiseacre's Wizarding Equipment A new coaster "Gringotts Coaster" will be a main atttraction for this new area. very exciting - but would that mean that you can park hop? Think it is slightly dearer to have this option at present?

OMG this is so exciting! I was just discussing this with my HP obsessed son the other day and we did wonder how they would do Diagon Alley considering some of the shops are already in 'Hogsmeade'. Love the idea of it being hidden behind London landmarks.
Looks like another trip in the not so distant future... damn! Thanks for letting us know. JA x

I think they should ditch park hopping and turn it into one big park! We find US/IOA difficult as they put all the kiddie rides in one area in each park, so we waste a lot of time going back and forward to/from the kids' areas. Otherwise you end up doing all the kids rides and then they don't get on anything for ages and get fed up. At least with being able to go between parks we could do a bit of US and the kids bit, then swap parks and do a bit in Seuss area and more rides for DD1 and us, although we are HP fans and love some aspects about US/IOA I find both parks badly laid out and difficult to navigate (because of being around lakes with no shortcuts). Admittedly MK is more for the younger visitor, but with a central hub it's much easier to get around and switch areas.
So part of me is hoping the link between the parks might help as at least the little ones will be able to go on the Hogwarts Express, and if we can get on it, the Hippogriff ride. |

I'll probably get shot for this, but I feel the wwohp needs a lot adding to it and this is a step in the right direction. At the moment you can walk from one end of it to the other in two minutes.
