An achilles rupture doesn't prevent you from walking flat footed, but you can't stand on tiptoes. If it's a suspected rupture you shouldn't put any weight on that foot, so no walking on it. If they didn't say anything about that in A&E then I suspect they're not over concerned. You'd normally hear it snap or feel a sudden pain when you did it if it is a rupture.

I hope it's all ok for Friday

Wishing you lots of luck that it's not as serious as it could be. Hope the next 24 hours goes quickly and you can get to go on holidays no problem

DH snapped his Achilles this time last year...10 days before we were due to fly to Florida. (Playing 5 aside when he 'retired' from football 7 years ago because the opposite ankle has perished...).
Unfortunately due to a comedy of errors (I love the NHS but it ended up being a bit of a farce!) there was no chance of it knitting itself together without an op.
Holiday cancelled 😕, op, cast, walking boot, 4 months off work...fun fun fun! We had a lovely summer though and have booked again to go in a few weeks.
I hope it all goes well tomorrow and you get to have your holiday.

If he is walking and driving on it I reckon you will be good to go... I had a partial tear playing football years back ... although sore I could still walk and drive ok... sport was out for a few months mind you. It sounds more like an excuse of him getting you to push you around whilst out there!

Fingers crossed all goes well with the scan, by the sounds of things he's not too bad but can imagine the stress it has caused at this late time , I would go regardless and just make the best of it ️xxx
