We had our first trip as a family last August I was terrible, filled with tears too many times to remember. Just watching their little faces filled with excitement. The very best kind of memories as a family. Have the best time

Been 7 times and still feel like this. Always cry when I’m in the magic kingdom too. Bawled my eyes out in fact on 7 Dwarves mine train a couple of years ago, as I was so grateful to be there.

We go on holiday 2 or 3 times a year abroad, plus a few UK holidays in our caravan. I get excited, nervous and stressed before all holidays but I get so emotional at Florida holidays, especially Disney.

I get emotional booking ADRs and Fast Passes, even more emotional just before we fly and don't even ask how I am watching fireworks 😀. However, the evening before we leave is the worst. To be honest, I don't know why I put myself through it (yes I do 😁 )

What a fab post

I can only describe your feeling as one of complete and utter pride in what you have planned and all that lies ahead.

Such an amazing feeling yet always with a sense of butterflies in the tummy and a 'what happens if...'

If things don't go to plan - just 'Go with the Flow' ( Nemo Musical will make this make sense!)

Allow your children to share how they feel too , as if they are totally wiped out they will not enjoy anything that is planned.

I love that you have such a great trip to look forward to, that emotion changes when you come home and you constantly check for bargains that will allow you to return

Enjoy your countdown and simply have a brilliant holiday

Totally relate to this post. We’ve been going since 2006. Dd21 and ds18 have grown up with Florida. So many priceless memories. Dd21 has special needs and hates every other type of holidays apart from Florida. That’s our excuse to keep going back 😍😍

We are all very emotional about the next trip. Maybe because Ds and his girlfriend might want to do their own thing next time? It definitely feels like the end of a chapter.
I hope not.

One tip is to run a family Florida Whatsapp group for when you’re there. We’ve had one running for three years. It’s a lovely way to commemorate the small moments. I reread ours often.

Oh I completely relate to this. The music as well... it just gets me. I feel emotional before we go, getting on the plane, when we land, when we arrive at our accomodation. BUT that's nothing compare to how I feel going under the 'Where Dreams Come True' welcome sign, when I first see the castle, when the kids first met Mickey or any of the fireworks shows. God I'm a flipping mess quite frankly

I can relate to OP , I have been to Florida numerous times with my kids, my brother/sister and their kids and always had a blast. This time we are taking our two gorgeous grandaughters (10 + 5) for their first time abroad as well as flying . It brings a wee smile to my face thinking about watching their faces when they see the castle in MK for the first time... sniff.
