East Coast of Yorkshire, short drive for us, some of the UKs best beaches and lovely countryside, and some of the best fish and chips in the world.

Other than Florida twice my holidays are always uk based. I would pick where I have gone on my last 2 holidays so Cornwall or Lake District for me in a cottage. I love holidaying in the UK so
many beautiful places to visit

My partner and I had very differing holiday experiences when we were growing up.
We always holidayed abroad - Europe, North Africa and Florida. My partner's family, where she was one of five kids, could not afford overseas holidays so went to North Norfolk each Summer staying in static caravans, with most days spent on the beach. I'll admit to having been a bit of a holiday snob when we met, and I'd literally never taken a a UK-holiday (weekend breaks - yes, but a week or more - no). She was keen to show me North Norfolk and we took a few holidays there staying in cottages, some with shared access to indoor pools and other facilities and we had an amazing time - it's a gorgeous part of the country. Just last night I read a write-up in The Guardian of this place - waveneyrivercentre - which I took a look at. We have a dog that I'd like to bring with us if we could and some of their yurts are pet-friendly - waveneyrivercentre...lamping-yurts/ I've always fancied a stay in a yurt, so we may well take a week there. Taking a day cruiser out on the broads and stopping at a few pubs is a great way to spend a day, and exploring some of the quieter backwaters in a kayak with a picnic is also fantastic fun. Other than that, there's not a lot to dislike about much of Devon and Cornwall, other than the drive to get there! |

We are so lucky where we live , we have North Yorks Moors, Yorkshire Dales and Lake District all close at hand. We take regular visits to local seaside beaches such as Whitby, Staithes and Robins Hoods Bay, plus the steam train in Goathland.
With so much choice , we won’t venture any further this year, but explore and enjoy more than usual |

Where I live, the South Hams, Devon.🙂
We're just up the road from Salcombe and Bigbury... lovely beaches. Going back 'home' next week to see the family and our 2 lovely granddaughters, we've not seen them since lock down😍🥰 We've lived in Devon for 2 years, but still call Essex home🤔, we lived there for 34 years, we wouldn't move back but we miss the family. |

We're now doing a UK road trip - including 2 nights in Whitby. I've promised myself fish and chips there!

We have the next 2 weeks off work and looking to get away for the 2nd week.
Just can’t decide between Whitby area, Norfolk or Dorset. DD’s are 18 and 13 so need enough to keep them entertained, so currently looking into what we can do in each place. Hoping to stay in a cottage wherever we end up 😊

North or East Yorkshire, in a lodge with a hot tub, we've done this last few years and always had a lovely break, take dogs lots of dog friendly beaches or walks nearby, plus it's only a short drive for us x

The Lake District in a hotel With our doggy is where I love to return to, not sure if we will go because I’m scared everyone else will go too.

We almost always holidayed in the UK before I met OH who has always gone abroad. I would love to revisit the south west. I’ve always said if I had to live any where else but Essex, that’s where I’d live. Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset are lovely. However, I’ve always fancied going to Gloucestershire and Herefordshire too. There’s lots of lovely places here that I’d like to visit. OH has been going to Florida for so long, it’s hard to break him of that habit (he needs the familiarity of going to the same place).
