What is everyone’s thoughts about the drive from Melbourne to Walt disney world

Has anyone done it and felt the journey was not too bad

It is a straight run down the 192 traffic is very light until you get in to St Cloud then it picks up, It takes me around an hour and a half or so to get from my villa to MLB.

we prefer TUI as our son is paralised and they have always been excellent, probably jinxed myself now

it is the drive that was putting me off but 90 mins is fine

think with ds being paralised Orlando Intl would be just to much stress for us on our own

just need to see if the special care hire people will deliver from Melbourne

If the drive is too much immediately after landing perhaps a night at Vero Beach might work? Much closer - not sure if Disney offer transfers between there and WDW though, but possibly worth considering.

This would have been so ideal, as you say short distance and we are dvc members so also would have been ideal but unfortunately the medical stuff we have is stored in orlando so a bit stuck

As a DVC member I'm quite excited about Melbourne and its proximity to Disney Vero Beach resort.

Makes a quick weeks beach break look quite attractive. fly from Doncaster about 30 mins from me to Melbourne and Vero is about 30 mins away.

That would be a good idea. Especially if you arrive at evening rush hour time. Can't imagine driving in to Orlando at 6pm being anything other than horrendous.

Get to Vero and drive to Orlando at a more convenient time the next day.

You have to remember the experience at MCO will be completely different once the new international terminal opens.
