Anyone Used GotRentalCars.com ?
Hey all (new to forum, although did used to use many moons ago)
Any of you guys used this broker in the past, or have future bookings with them ? I ask, as i am curious on there methods... They appeared via Kayak search, i know the company name anyway (i hit the US twice a year, apart from last 2yrs! ) from when i do searches in the past... Yesterday, a deal too good to be true popped up, using them for a FFAR (full size SUV), rental firm being AVIS... (has CDW / LIS ) Here's my concern, car is booked for 6th May (airport), but the email confirmation says "the cost will be deducted on or around the 29th April from your credit card"... Erm, thats not exactly a prepaid rate, and although on the same email, it shows me a AVIS ref (i'll call AVIS on Monday to see if they can shed some light on the booking ) , part of me thinks, the price i paid is about 35% less than the average cost, and the shortage of cars ain't repairing itself anytime soon, so what if the broker just cancels on me last min, as the cost to them is higher ? (like trading on a future!) ... I only read reviews on Google about this firm, after i made the booking... Just wondered if anyone else been in a similar situ ? Edited at 02:11 PM. |

The Avis rates they are quoting me don’t include CDW, you can add it as an extra. Not checked any further but it may not include SLI either. So I would proceed with caution.

Certainly don't seem cheap for my dates at least. Not used them before, main thing is to make sure you are covered for the insurance you require.
There are a few car hire companies that don't require a deposit at all (such as Andy), and only charge nearer the time, they still secure the booking at the price they are giving you. Having a look at trustpilot the reviews don't seem too bad, most aren't directly the fault of the broker, it's the end supplier. |

I just got off phone with Avis, in all fairness, lady said my booking looks solid, so maybe i am being over cautious Every rental i do, including when booking direct with Hertz, i always book a pre-paid rate, so the above threw me, when i booked a prepaid rate that will come off my card end of April! MCO - 9 day - FFAR (using a main renter) = over £1100 + My deal is like £833! (hence the caution with cost and unusual late payment on a pre-paid rate) Edited at 12:43 PM. |

How weird this situation is when someone is excited about £833 for 9 days eh? 😂
