Penrith and Keswick

It's Scottish half term next week so we're taking kids (9+12) to the lakes for a few days. Were staying between Penrith and Keswick, anyone any suggestions for what to do with the kids? So far I'm planning the Rheged to see James bond one evening, Cumbria zoo, rookinhouse activity centre and the puzzling place.

What about some hillwalking? A boat trip across the lake to climb Catbells is a good starter.

I think there's an escape room in Keswick, we had the dog with us so I didn't pay much attention, but sure we passed it.

The Pencil Museum ( honestly ! ) it’s years ago that we went with our children but it is really quite interesting and will pass a couple of hours on if it’s raining.

There’s a really good one in Workington too.

Brockhole is a good day out with the kids but you’d have to check the opening hours at this time of the year.

Aria Force is a nice walk if the weather is dry.

We went there years ago on a rainy day! Still have fond memories of it.
