Masks- Take more

I took 12 cloth masks, and 10 blue masks (the ones specifically required for transport) and it really wasn't enough. We were there for 5 days and 4 nights and I honestly wish I had taken another ten. I think this would probably come down to preference and we did have a few really warm days.
If you are not sure if you have packed enough masks, pack a few more.

This is why I said it would come down to preference. Our arrival day was very wet so once we were soaked through we changed our masks. This doesn't include swapping to a disposable one to board the plane. After that we had very warm weather. Combination of warm weather and averaging 22000 steps a day, our masks got quite smelly by lunch time so we would swap them. Again, this is personal preference. You're expected to wear a mask everywhere on property unless you are eating/drinking or smoking. Personally, I don't wear the same mask for more than a few hours at a time which is why I recommend taking more.

Really? You shouldn’t wear a mask more than one day without washing it IMO. And in the heat they will get very moist.

We go through at least 1 a day and sometimes more just doing normal stuff like shopping.

I think it's recommended to change a mask every 4 hours. It's why they recommend you take more for longer flights. X

Just found this as part of the government information on wearing face masks, although there is no set time the advice is to change them every time you need to remove it, putting disposable ones in the bin or reusables away to be washed, this should be in a plastic bag.

When removing a face covering:

wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitiser before removing
only handle the straps, ties or clips
do not give it to someone else to use
if single-use, dispose of it carefully in a residual waste bin and do not recycle
if reusable, wash it in line with manufacturer’s instructions at the highest temperature appropriate for the fabric
wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitiser once removed.

i think most people have given up with following guidelines these days.
at the start of wearing a mask i would put it in a box or bag not anymore.

people shove them in pockets, wear them on their wrists, under the chin.

Here in Wales they are very much still a thing. I wear them wherever recommended and certainly not as a chin-warmer!

Having to wear them outdoors is a bit of a farce. Nobody seems to be enforcing it anywhere other than on attractions

This is what’s stopping me going at the moment! I would be fine wearing a mask in indoor/enclosed settings but I don’t want to wear one out in the open air .I don’t feel like I can expect my additional needs 9 year old to wear a mask all day either I know that would be too much for him.
