London Oct half term
We’re taking our annual London trip in Oct half term and looking for ideas of different things to do. Will be me, DH and 2 boys age 14 and 11.
We’re travelling down by train on Thursday lunchtime so plan on getting an early dinner then going to theatre in evening. Friday all day is free to do stuff and Friday evening we’re going to watch a football match. Saturday then free before we get the train back at 3:30pm. We’re staying in Old Street but travelling all over. In the past we’ve done the main attractions so looking for something different (and maybe some cheaper option in there too). Also, any recommendations for family friendly pre theatre dinner? |

I can recommend Alternative London street art tours - they’re very good if you like that sort of thing. Or free tours by foot (I haven’t tried them yet, but they are ‘pay what you feel it’s worth’).

We are considering a Jack the Ripper walk when we go up in November - not sure whether it would be suitable for your youngest but might be worth a look

You could try The Clink prison museum on south bank near the Golden Hind.
It’s not massive but it’s the one of the oldest prisons in England and really interesting and fun. |

We’re travelling back down for the third time this year at half-term. We’ve got Back to the Future and Wicked booked so our days will be filled with freebies and cheapies like the galleries and museums.

We’re down there on Saturday visiting Dd and DSIL. The Temple of Mithras is a free attraction. A short visit but very atmospheric. londonmithraeum/
