What to wear early December
It's been 9 years since I visited in early December. I usually wear shorts and a T-shirt when we go other times. What do I need to take?! Any suggestions please

You will need layers. Shirts and maybe a hoodie for the early mornings, that you can strip off when the sun comes out. Hats, gloves and jumpers, maybe a gilet for the evenings. It’s a bone numbing cold.

When it's hot it can be very hot,but when it's cold it can get Billy Baltic, we've had all-sorts over the years we've been going in December,it can be beautiful blue skies out your window, then you go out and the windchill can cut you in two.Hoping this year is going to be a good one 🌞but you need to be prepared,we always have lots of pool days and wear shorts pretty much the whole 4 weeks.

I agree. We went in early January one year. Some days we were able to sunbathe by pool, a few days we had hats and gloves on. Occasional chilly morning, with frost on windscreen of car.
We travelled in UK clothes so had our winter coat, jeans, boots jumper etc in case we needed them, and packed spare, plus clothes for hotter days. Still a great time to go though. Also, we changed our plans a bit more than usual to take advantage of a warmer day for a pool day. Might be an thought to take a rucksack and take advantage of park lockers so you can de-layer/or change when it warms up/cools down. I would do that next time as a couple of times we went out in the afternoon when temps were nice and warm and temperature dropped off quickly early evening and we got caught out. Hope this helps. I did early December in 2019 most days I wore shorts, dress or leggings and tended to start/end the day off with a jacket.
It was my first time going in Dec - normally do Sept/Oct or the week before Thanksgiving but got to admit I really like the temperature/weather in early December. |

Lovely time of year to go!
It will be mainly warm enough for t ≈≈≈≈≈ and shorts most days. They may have a cold front through during that time and you will need layers for that. |

2019 was one of the better winters! We went in late November and found that during the day, you’d wear the same clothes as you would in the summer, but after 6 it could get cold. In the first few days we went to Uniqlo and all bought cheap hoodies. They were perfect for the evenings. But as others have said, it depends on the severity of the winter.

I’ve never worn hats, gloves etc in Florida.
We once had it snow overnight in Feb I think it was and next day we were at the pool. Average temps below, the lows are in the early morning. We don’t tend to stay out late, so later you stay out the more you’d notice the dropping temps. It can often be in the 80s. There can be cold fronts come down, but in winter, and I’ve been plenty, I’ve never been wearing gloves level. Shorts and hoodie is as bad as it’s got. I’m not saying it won’t happen, but it’s unlikely. 2019 was a strange one. We had a lot more cloud and light rain than is usually the case, but lows didn’t drop much at all, but it often wasn’t as hot as it should be in the day (Xmas Eve wasn’t good at all but Xmas day was lovely). I was on Top of the World Lounge day before NYE watching the fireworks in shorts and T shirt, it was balmy. Go prepared for a mixture but one thing is for sure, it will be a hell of a lot warmer than it is here.

Dec 2010 it was minus 2 some days. We wore thick winter coats almost every day. Absolutely loved it, parks empty and never needed to stop for a rest!

We're hardy Scots and there has been times where the big jaikets were definitely needed, even Bostonians we spoke to were colder in Orlando than they were at home, but don't be put off, it's a fab time to go and you still should get plenty of sunshine 🌞😎🎄
