Never mind the loo roll shortage - what about currants?

I have been stocking up on my Christmas cake ingredients and trying for weeks to buy some currants without success. I have looked everywhere!

Yet again Morrisons are today substituting sultanas for my currants

Is there a worldwide shortage?

My middle son likes to have raisins in his porridge but not the tiny boxed ones that taste of cardboard 😂
We have been struggling to get those 😤

I ended up getting some from Holland and Barrett’s, there is a shortage of a lot of dry fruit but managed to get all I needed eventually.

Thank you for the responses. I'm obviously using the wrong Supermarkets. They are on Morrison's website but just don't come in the delivery. Sainsbugs don't even have the option to buy currants. Holland and Barrets didn't have any yesterday. I may have to resort to raisins

Can’t believe how empty Morrison’s shelves are. Including fresh produce and meat.
I wonder if they have been streamlining to make their takeover bottom line look good.
It’s also really expensive there at moment.
