Very True.
We feel Ritz is really for nouveau ruche visitors to Town. Claridges defiantly has the class element (being the current favourite of The Queen and other senior royals). Corinthia is nice and a good spot to spot Hollywood Glitterati who tend to reside there and is far from shabby. |

We had afternoon tea at The Ritz on Wednesday (definitely not nouveau riche!). It was a great experience - food was lovely and plentiful, and the servers were on the ball. The Palm Court is lovely. Would recommend.

The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory afternoon tea at OneAldwych looks amazing. It's 52 per person so quite expensive, but I've heard it's lovely.

The problem we had is it was in the run up to Christmas and we had just left Claridges where there were Xmas decorations and a choir singing to those having afternoon tea - and a tea buzz to the place. When we arrived at the Ritz we waited 20 minutes to not be served a drink, no decorations, no music and definitely no choir For us that evening the Ritz felt like a morticians waiting room |
