Am I being unreasonable? ATD booking
So bit of background, we booked (may 19) to stay onsite and tickets for Disney to travel Sept 2020. This wasn't happening so we moved it to May 2021, this didn't happen so we moved it to Sept 2021 and again this wasn't happening so I changed it to April 2022.
I originally paid £200 deposit. I have then had 3 'free' changes, and have paid £25 amendment fee. We are now only going to stay in Universal and not bother with Disney next year due to all the changes and this has been booked with flights with BA as they also had some of my money in a voucher. Attraction tickets say that I can't use my deposit that I have with them to ticket only as its tied up in the hotel. I was planning to use that money towards seaworld tickets. Am I being unreasonable? Thanks

I was told if I wanted to cancel my holiday (hotel and park tickets) I could use my deposit I paid for any other tickets I wanted even for trips in England. I would try ringing again and seeing what someone else may say. X

I had someone at ATD give me wrong info about tickets last year, I sent an email and someone called me back and sorted it out and apologised.
Definitely worth double checking |

I changed mine to Universal only but there was no hotel booking, just tickets.
I'd maybe give them a ring. |

You are not being unreasonable asking for your hotel+ticket booking to be changed to a ticket-only booking and the deposit applied to your new booking (minus some admin fee). But it does very much depend on what the Ts&Cs of your contract says you can do as to whether ATD will do this or not.
In reality, these are two separate bookings - you are cancelling the original hotel+tickets package booking and then taking out a new ticket-only booking. In cancelling the first booking it could be argued that you would usually lose your deposit so can't apply this to the new booking. But, given recent events, a lot of companies have been allowing people to do that even though its not in the Ts&Cs because they want to keep the customer's business. So ATD have tended to allow people to do this - see other people's experiences above.

It may be the way you worded it as if you worded it "could I change to a ticket only" the answer may not have been the same as "can I cancel and use the deposit money for a different ticket". Its worth trying again and see what they say. I managed to cancel two hotel package bookings for next year and keep the deposit to use on any tickets or UK attractions even for 12 months

Ok update: I decided to ring and the gentleman I spoke with said this wouldn’t be a problem 🥳 So my husband has emailed in to cancel and we will see what they say. I spoke to a lady last time and she said no. Hopefully it will be ok.

I find the different people you speak to at ATD, you get a different outcome.
Last week I was cancelling our Disney hotel and ticket package, and whilst on the phone I also wanted to cancel our universal tickets (which were booked separate) and he said nope you arent entitled to cancel these because the tickets are dated 2022, if we cancel we lose our deposit, but I never had a 2022 booking, it was for May 2021, which we postponed to Oct 2021 and obviously couldnt travel. Eventually he agreed to give me a refund, but I had to stand my ground.
