Takeaway Recommendations?

Hi

All being well we are flying to Disney on November the 8th to stay at Art of Animation for our Honeymoon.

For the first night we decided we'd just get a takeaway and order one to the hotel.

I set my location on Uber Eats to the Hotel were staying at and there is sooooooo much choice!

What would people recommend to go for, I eat anything

watching with interest. our next wdw will be onsite and car free. Two things I hadnt thought to do when onsite is 1) get grocieries delivered and 2) order takeaway.

I have read that people do this, but I haven't personally and would be really interested to know as well. We usually just grab something quick from the food hall, but takeaway might be good and then I can unpack etc as well.

Yeah I thought it might be a good idea as I can grab food from the food hall for the 2 weeks we are there if needed and means we can just get to the room, order food, unpack and take it easy the first night.

Are you looking for something special as it’s the first night arriving in your honeymoon? If not another idea is to get your food from the foodcourt Landscape of Flavours. You can get it all boxed to go. You’d probably(not 100% sure) have to go meet the Uber at the front reception anyway so would pass the food court anyway. First night of my and my wife’s honeymoon we grabbed a burger at Port Orleans Riverside food court and we are still together 15 years later

Congratulations!

Yeah I think we fancy having a look at the takeaways as no doubt we'll be visiting the food court regularly during our stay there so thought we'd go for something different and treat ourselves.

After seeing the sheer amount of takeaways available there is so much choice we're spoilt!

George is correct, you have to meet any takeaway delivery in reception anyway. I'd probably also just get something to go from the food court. Especially with Uber orders often being a 45+ minute wait. An option is the in-room pizza delivery though, Disney offer this at all the value resorts.

ETA: Just seen your reply above. I tend to only use the resort food court for the first day or two due to jet lag. The rest of the time, there's way too many other restaurants on property to check out and I'm generally at a park around meal time anyway.

Think my fiancee is looking at getting a Panda Express. I'm maybe looking to get a pizza but not sure where would be best from a takeaway

I totally get you’re really wanting a takeaway option rather than food court but I’ve watched sooooo many vlogs where they do this and never once successfully. Either there’s food missing or it’s cold (or both). I’m yet to understand why one repeat takeaway order-er keeps doing so as they’ve never had a reasonable experience.

I’d definitely do the food court on your first night. You want an easy stress free night when you arrive.
Try a takeaway later in the trip.

But don’t think you need to eat in the food court every day. We find we are rarely at our hotel for meal times and we end up eating all over the resort.
