The French App is called TousAntiCovid. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to set up.
He can fill in his passenger location form at any point within 48 hours of travel. So as long as he is in that window he should be fine. We dont intend to complete ours until our last full day, which will be 24ish hours before travel.

It can't be completed more than 48 hours before returning so he can do it before he leaves up to departure. Though better to do it before then just in case it crashes.

Its on UK government website. You need some information to complete it but when it is done they will email you a QR code.

What about the test you have to have upon returning to the UK between day 0 and day 2. Aren't they meant to be changing it from PCR test to something else soon? Do we still order a PCR test at the moment or this new one they meant to be changing it to?

Sorry for all the confusion on my part

oh ok thanks.

And no requirements for a test to enter france or anything from french goverment at start of trip? I know that the uk goverment doesn't require one before holiday/leaving uk anymore.

Sorry for all the questions
