Silent Witness - what’s going on?

As a long-standing silent witness fan I’m so so disappointed with this season so far. The storylines are over complicated and ridiculous and the acting is atrocious- maybe because of the script being unrealistic and stupid. I honestly am shocked by how rubbish it is and have watched it for years? Anyone else noticed it?

I was encouraged by friends to watch as they had been fans for ages.i thought I was missing something and it was me. So pleased to find others think the same as me. Well I thought the acting was awful particularly Jack who spends ages moodily looking at a computer screen. Long slow shots of them taking photos.boring! Last week they waded through flood water to get to the retirement home , then ordered a taxi to take Jack home! There's better programmes on TV.

I’ll put it this way. DH and I have gone off Silent Witness.

We used to watch it and enjoy the programme. This series we turned off part way through the first episode. Tried again with the second episode, yup just as bad.

I thought exactly the same, have been extremely disappointed with this season.

I have to agree , latest series was terrible but I put it down to filming during covid( correct me if I'm wrong) & hope it improves next series.

I agree with all the previous posts. This series has been very dull and slow. There is no humour or even any light hearted moments now that Clarissa has gone. I really don’t like the new woman (can’t remember her name) - her acting is very wooden.

I’m also disappointed in it. Like you said totally weird story lines and acting is rubbish.
Why have they never needed an earth analyst before when all of sudden they do.

Every series we say we won’t watch the next… but then we do! This one was particularly bizarre in places… especially the bit with Nicky doing karaoke… so cringy! In fact the last two episodes were so over the top and unbelievable! Not sure what the next series will bring but Sam Ryan may improve things!

I'm hoping that filming during covid affected the writing, as it was a bit disappointing.

I enjoyed both new characters, kinda wish both had stayed. Really not sure why he had to die.

Hoping the next series is better!
