2/3 night break in UK

I am looking for suggestions for a short break in the UK at the end of the month. 2 years ago we went to York. There was plenty to do (the Minster, train museum, walk the lanes and walls, etc.). Can you recommend anywhere else we can try?

Edinburgh, Chester, Liverpool. All have vary attractions to keep you busy.
We often like a long weekend in Pitlochry. Good food, the Festival Theatre if there’s anything on.

Bath is pretty spectacular and with Castle Combe (Dr Doolittle with Rex Harrison) and Lacock (Harry Potter), not too far away.

You can visit the spa centre and luxuriate as the Romans did! It is a rather beautiful City… and I am not a City boy in any way.

My daughter and I are off to Edinburgh next week for three nights.
She was born there but I moved back down to Cambridgeshire when she was just two. The only thing she asked for for her birthday last month was a trip to Edinburgh and to go to the football that me and her dad used to go to.
We go Wed to Saturday and drive home after the game on Saturday night.

We enjoyed Richmond last month. We spent one day wandering around Kew Gardens and the next Richmond Park. It's a nice walk up the Thames too.

Chester is really good. It has really good places to eat & drink, there’s the zoo and the shops too.

Belfast was really good when I went there. Again, nice places to eat and drink and it has the titanic museum & the gaol.

Liverpool. I live about twenty minutes from Liverpool and it’s one of my favourite places. You’ve got the docks, the shops, Tate, loads of museums etc and nice bars

Stratford upon Avon. I’ve only been once, but I really enjoyed myself. There’s so much history, the river is lovely for a boat ride and Warwick castle isn’t too far.

London. Loads of people won’t agree, but I really enjoy London. We like to wander around the sites and see a show and we’ve not ran out of things to see yet when we’ve visited.
