Marina del Rey or long beach?

Hi all, we have our itinerary for this year nearly complete but can't decide on where to spend the last two nights looking for opinions on Marina del Rey (stayed here on two occasions) or long beach?

I am having a similar dilemma at the minute. Marina Del Ray or Santa Monica. Ritz Carlton MDR or Loews SM.
What did you think of MDR?

Have you had a look at Manhattan Beach?

We spent our last 3 days here before we flew home from lax and spent the time body boarding and bike riding the strand, some nice restaurants there too

I hadn't thought of Manhattan beach so I'll take a look there, the tweens would love to try body boarding so that might be a good option, thanks.

In which case I'd try Huntingdon Beach.. its surf city and lovely there.

As for your other question when I get time I really want to try a few nights at Long Beach we've been twice and its a really nice place.

We were initially booked for Long Beach but changed it to Redondo Beach which we really liked.
