Is this actually endorsed in the UK though?— see so many bad examples of poor parking on roads on a daily basis, I doubt it.😳

One of my pet hates, that and stopping and not turning head lamps down to side lights, gggrrr.

We got pulled for speeding on AMI. Doing 28mph in a 25mph zone! We had pulled onto the road off another road and not realised!

Like you I doubt there are many tickets issued for this offence, I only recall it as my Dad got a ticket for this in Margate and didn't stop moaning about it! Albeit that was probably at least 40 years ago, back in the days when the Police or maybe police supported traffic wardens were responsible for parking tickets.

Yes it was Tarpon Springs we were fined for 28 in a 25 limit.
AMI, Celebration and Tarpon seem to be a magnet for police and tourists.
DS was stopped in Tarpon for not pulling over onto a far lane when over taking a parked Emergency vehicle and was told "It is no good fining you as you will just go home without paying"!

We got done at St. Mateo in California. We read a sign saying Free Parking for XXX Store users, so parked up in a space and went shopping. Came back to find $60 fine as we had apparently parked the wrong side of a two inch wide median.

I got a fine in Montauk on Long Island whilst eating at the Lobster Roll (if you've watched The Affair you'll know it!).

Car park was full but loads of cars parked on the side of the road. When we got back we had a fine - turns out it was a bicycle lane (no signs to say that). We were only in it by a few inches as I'd pulled over as far into the ditch as possible.

The worst bit - there was no way I could pay it. It was a case of send a certified cashiers check to a certain address, or visit a specific courthouse in some town miles away.

So I had to let the fine increase 2 times, then be sent to the car rental company, who then added an admin fee and then charged me. Turned out to be a very expensive lunch!
