We loved our meal at the sandbar and have great memories of our visit there. I have no idea why we never ate at the Rod and Reel last time but have every intention of doing so this trip!

For me the Sandbar is very overpriced for what you get.

Love the Waterfront and the Beach house isn't bad.

Sign of the Mermaid is good but very small and can be hot with limited drinks available.

Rod and Reel - definitely.

Ice cream from 2 scoops is fab.

We had one good and one absolutely awful meal at the Sandbar... so much so we didn't pay for it...

We love walking up the beach for all you can eat pancakes at the Beach Cafe - nothing overly special food wise but eating breakfast with your toes in the sand is a fab feeling!

Im also reluctant to share this place as its awesome!

Star Fish Company in Cortez - you sit on picnic benches on the dock over the water watching the pelicans and eating from take away boxes.

In fact I MADE DH take me back in September so I could have a late birthday meal there (Birthday was yesterday') - didn't want to go at this time of year as Florida too cold for us in Dec/Jan.

its very simple place but its in the top 3 places I have ever eaten...

Katie

Rod and Reel, doughnut experiment ( maple syrup and bacon was my favourite)
Two scoops, starfish and Ginnie and Janies for breakfast (really unusual and you must try the creme brulee French toast)

Definitely the Waterfront. We went there after walking out of the Sandbar - hour wait, very noisy and seemingly chaotic all round. Excellent meals and would definitely return.

Also love Rod & Reel on the Pier - a must do! Had the biggest portion of popcorn shrimp ever there!
