Just heard on BBC news all on board apart from pilot were British. So sad, but even more so when victims are from home.

you're right - it shouldn't be even sadder, but it just is.

I cant find this anywhere on the bbc news website ( that they were british ) - do we know if 3 brits were killed, or if one of the fatalities was the pilot ?

This is very sad, I can't believe people survived to be honest. We went with Papillon a couple of years ago, loved it and felt very safe, hope it wasn't our pilot :-(

bbc site now updated. Three Britons killed. Sounds like the pilot must have been one of the 4 survivors for those of you concerned about your personal pilots

Truly tragic. Incredible that anyone survived.

I'll always remember my first helicopter ride; August 2001 over the Grand Canyon. The following day, one went down and everyone was killed. I know it shouldn't have but it has put me off helicopters for most of my life and I'll now only board them in extreme circumstance. Tragic events followed us on that trip as we flew from West to East and enjoyed four nights in NYC before heading home. I still have no issue with flying (I fly light aircraft), tall buildings or New York - weird how the brain works.

BBC website now has all the details posted. Pilot survived, Scott Booth aged 42. Crash happened 17.20 local time, rescued survivors 02.00 local time. Party all young Britons aged around 30 and it must have been a truly awful experience.

I read that all six passengers were British. Terribly tragic whatever their nationality though. I note two of the dead have the same surname. Brothers perhaps? My thoughts are with their families.

😥😥 Sad to read.
If anyone connected to these poor young people who tragically died or are injured is on the Dibb, condolences. Our thoughts are with you.

Very, very sad news! Condolences to the victims families, it's absolutely tragic to think they were enjoying life and then to have it taken away like that.

My husband wanted to do this on our last trip and suggested it for our upcoming trip. I have a huge fear of helicopters, I don't know why but I have recurring nightmares about them for years now, whether I'm in one, or they are just in my dreams, but they are awful. I would never get in one, not because I don't think they are safe, but because they just terrify me personally. The sound of them, the look of them gives me shivers!
