I always take at least a couple of weeks extra. i also put some in hold luggage 'just in case'. I take thyroxine as i have no thyroid gland at all, so its really imperative that I have enough.

I'm the most paranoid here, then. I take enough medication for the trip and a tower with a spare months worth. I also take a spare wad of cash for just in case.

When I go to the US for 3 weeks I take 2 months of tablets plus my prescription and a letter from my clinic.
I have had a kidney transplant and also take into account not just delays but if I ended up in hospital then I have a supply of the actual brand of tablets I have to take.Plus they cost a fortune in the US!
They don't weigh much so would rather be sure than sorry - some people laugh at me -I don't care!

I always used to take an extra week with me but recently I was taken off them by my specialist due to a high blood test. As it's for my arthritis I panicked a little as I didn't want my joints becoming painful but was told the medication stays in my system for 5 to 6 weeks ( I was off them for 5 with no problems) , so now just take what I need.

Sorry, that was long winded
