disney to a tent !

Having had 3 holidays cancelled ( week in Mallorca, week in the Algarve, and a week on the Norfolk broads), and the big 3 weeks in Las Vegas and LA Disney California end of July and a week in Devon in August now probably just a pipe dream.
I have bought a tent and equipment, looks like North Wales, Peak District and the Lakes this summer some time.

not the best year to take early retirement fom March with 4 month off

At least i can transfer my virgin flights to next yer for a 5 week epic in Florida, 2 weeks Kissimmee, 1 week cocoa beach and 2 x 1 week back to back carnival cruises.

I hope the weather is kind for you on your new camping adventure. We once had a lovely night staying in Abersoch in Wales. Took forever to get there and back but was beautiful. The weather helped!

Same here 3 Week LV LA Hawaii March ..Had 3 days in Vegas then cruise was cancelled drove had few days in Palm Springs flew home ..Most expensive holiday that never happened .Last night cancelled our September flight to Arkansas just don't feel its going to happen and the way the Americans are treating this ..Must admit was worried . Our May , June , July camping trips all cancelled . So looks like we are over the fence in farmers field just to be under canvas . Your tent will be your saviour even if its just garden camping

😂 I’m the same, took early retirement and was so looking forward to all the cheaper holidays we had booked as I’m not tied to school holidays anymore.
We unearthed a tent in the garage the other day which hasn’t been used for donkeys years, may have to dust it off and pitch it in the garden to check for leaks before we use it

I’m due to retire 31st July and had lots of plans which are now out of the window so have agreed to go back part time for 3 months to support recovery ( healthcare worker) . May as well be at work and earning some extra funds for next years holidays 😀

We camped out on our back garden last week.

Was horrendous with a 4 & 5 year old.

Should be in Florida right now.

The camping will not happen again (at least till I forget how bad it was)

Haha in exactly the same boat,
Took early retirement March 12 to see the world or at least more of it. Had 2 trips cancelled and still have a holiday in Texas booked end of July.
I am in the process of seeing if they will defer it until next year but whatever happens i will not be going this year, Dont fancy the 9hr flight in the current climate.
I think we will travel over to europe via the tunnel for a camping holiday instead, around early september probably.

I'm holding off buying a tent because I do not want to jinx the weather. It would be nice to get away and be able to take our dog with us but any time I have booked a holiday here in advance we have been washed out. 4/4 now so I think I'll wait to see if we get a heatwave or at least a good spell of weather.

I hope you don't mind me jumping in rather than starting a new thread. What is a reasonable price to pay for a decent tent, with a separate bedroom area and an area you can stand up in. Would £300 get one of reasonable quality?
