Disney ID - policy changed?
Just noticed this on the Disney ID policy page;
disneyworld/faq/re...d-for-alcohol/ It lists an original passport as being acceptable for ID on it's own, OR, a copy of the passport (photocopy / smartphone picture) along with an original photocard driving licence to verify the DOB on the copy. Both of the above are what we have been used to for quite some time at Disney. However, it then states; All Guests visiting from outside of the United States are required to present both a valid passport as well as another form of government-issued photo ID from their country of origin. Seems somewhat contradictory to me. I don't recall the latter paragraph being in there before. Edited at 09:29 PM. |

I’ve only ever produced a photo of my passport and it’s been fine. Not sure if it’s been updated though

I've never had to present ID at all - I wonder if that's because I've always used DDP credits and they've already scanned my magic band? I was 22 the first time we visited so definitely close to the age limit.

The latter paragraph was definitely there before; however I was never asked for ID myself.

I think it is badly worded, they require either your passport, or a copy of it and a driving licence.
Seems this policy is only really for Liquor sales, I have had no issues with just driving licence for other sales such as picking up tickets or checking in at the front desk. Best thing to do is take a photo of the passport on phone and keep your driving licence on you (which you must do if you drive anyway)

Nothing has changed. The wording has always been there.

What if you don't drive so don't have a licence though?
I did have one until recently - the provisional that I never bothered to learn with expired so its no longer legally acceptable

Then your passport is acceptable. It reads as though you only need second form if you take a copy of your passport.

This is correct. ID is either
1. your original passport OR 2. a copy of your passport (either a digital or a physical copy) and an original driver's licence.
