Dogs with stiff joints - any help?

My parents dog is getting old and he has joint problems. He was born with double hip displasure (sp?).

He is starting to limp a bit and we think its arthritis, the vet has confirmed this is the case.

Does anybody have any recommendations of meds we could buy to help him?

Thanks
Tracey

We’ve used YuMove for a while...got it from Amazon...and it has helped our 11 year old GSD so much. 😊

Yumove! We have seen a big difference since using it. I buy it direct from Yumove on a subscription which works out a bit cheaper. I did buy it from Amazon but had an old bottle sent out to me so don’t any more. Fetch usually have it at a good price to.

We did have a course of Cartrophen injections given to one of our dogs. Insurance will pay if the dog is diagnosed by the vet with arthritis. It can cause tumours though and although it was really effective, we did lose our old girl to a rectal tumour so I don’t think i would go down that route again tbh.

We give yumove to our 6 year old dog who had hip dysplasia as a puppy and subsequent surgery, and the vet always comments on how good his joints are 🤞🏻

We gave our old man paracetamol, half a tablet and it seemed to work (he was a lab collie mix so not a small dog), not every day though.
