Currency exchange
It's shockingly low which sucks. Has anyone ever took sterling with them and changed it in USA? Good or bad idea? Anyone over there know what the rates are right now over there?

NEVER EVER take Sterling and try to exchange in USA. Their rates plus charges are more shocking than the ones we currently have here.

When we were in LA a couple of weeks ago, there was a foreign exchange office in the shopping centre near our hotel. They were advertising £1 = $1.22, so quite a bit lower than the exchange rate here.
