Disney Anaheim package or DIY?

Hi, we're planning 4 nights at Disney Anaheim next August. Do they do packages like DLP or will I be better off booking it separately? We would like to be onsite or close by, it will be myself and 14 year old daughter.
Thanks.

Be much cheaper to book it DIY and to stop offsite.

On site hotels are really expensive, the cheapest Paradise Pier is over £300 per night when we are there next March, the offsite hotel we are staying in is £100 and less than 10 mins walk to Disney.

There are loads of off site hotels within a 10 min walk of the parks

offsite in anaheim is simple and many hotels in walking distance. We have stayed in a few different places all within 15minutes walk of the gate. This year we stayed in a suites hotel which was directly next to the disney car park so if you wanted you could just use the disney transport with was useful.
If you want to stay on site then you do get your own entrance into california adventure and you can get the monorail directly into disneyland. But you do do pay from the privilege in the room rate.

They do offer packages but theres no benefit or discount to them. Its cheaper in price to just booked the hotel and then booked tickets separately. We stayed onsite this August as it was a special trip but as others have mentioned there are other options within the same walking distance outside the park depending on your budget and the standard of hotel you are looking for. We booked the Disneyland Hotel through Orbtiz with a 15 percentage discount at easter time ready for our August trip. Orbitz often have discounts for the disney hotels but you have to keep checking for which dates the offer applies to and they only get a limited amount of rooms at a time. We then booked our tickets through Attraction Tickets Direct as this worked out cheaper than direct through disney.

packages didn't seem worth it when we booked. It's not a resort type holiday for us as you are so close to the outside world. hotels a short walk away are decent and reasonably priced.

OK, looks like being offsite then. What about tickets, Do you buy them before you go or on the gate?

What hotel are you stopping in this time? I have booked the Ayres again but would consider swapping f I could get a better deal.
