Same, I've virtually written it off. Not going to cancel until the flight gets culled but I'm not expecting to be supping on a Jai Alai with my nachos in Chili's on the 16th August!

We sell travel insurance at work - not the best industry to be in😀

We were told 19th July for the US to open up to the UK & EU but we have heard nothing recently. Makes it very hard to plan anything

Looking that way isn't it? I'm starting to think that it's not worth the stress and even if things do open up in time, do I really want to go when things can change so quickly?

A month ago, the answer would have been yes but now I'm not so sure.

Sorry to not be very positive!

I'm not cancelling my flights as I am pretty adamant that my flight on 19th Aug is not going ahead. Don't want to lose my deposit unnecessarily when I am so sure it will be cancelled. Shame.

We are the plague island
I can honestly understand merkels stance on this, anybody could arrive in from the UK into portugal and move freely throughout europe. I just hope the same doesnt happen for the spanish islands

Oh, don't get me wrong, despite being more Pvt Hudson than Cpl Hicks at the mo, there's no way I'm cancelling. They've had my money for years as I saw it as some sense of fair play to help them in times of need without custom (appears that is likely now in vain). But I'm not about to just let them keep the deposit and then bend over and take one for the industry with the price gauging for '22... No cancelling. Run it to the wire, they'll cancel first.

Yep 100% Agree.

Those who still believe that they are going, I have the upmost respect for them and do still hope we all manage to go!

Totally agree. I'm all for restrictions here until more are vaccinated, and at the same time fully support travel as everyone will be funeled through a safe system of testing and vaccination. Entirely different from the free for all of unregulated domestic mass gatherings. I don't see why travel isn't opening up now, no reason not to.

Jai Alai - just about my favourite beer anywhere, tracked some down in the UK a while back.

America has still got to play. We've been expecting possible things in July; e.g. update on the US UK taskforce, the symbolism of freedom on July 4th etc.

I'm doubtful, but also still slightly hopeful.

In any case I don't want to blink first.
