Why can't they just say officially that there are no flights til the 22nd? Seems to be mixed messages still.

I am happy to wait to get the money back as I can imagine they have a lot of them coming through.

I have booked France for 2 people return for £50 and staying with my Wife's mum it it goes to plan!

Wom't be goint to Orlando again in many years now i'm sure. I have been upset, but thats gone and I have accepted that now.
I got my money back from virgin within a few days. So don't worry about that.

Enjoy France! :-)

I flew down to London last year. Masks are an absolute pain in the butt on a flight. If I go Transatlantic I don't mind admitting that my mask would be under my nose most of the flight. I'd only put it on fully to use the bathroom.

So I've just had an email from Virgin saying they have extended their cancellation policy up to and including the 8th August due to ongoing restrictions which 'means unfortunately your booking with us is unable to go ahead as planned'.

Then says a full refund will be issued within 14 days.

What I don't understand though is I booked with Last Minute - so was assuming the cancellation would come from them? Is that not the case?

Hmm.. thinking about it my car hire was booked with them.. so maybe it's the car hire they're referring to?

The masks is the only thing that is putting me off booking for September, we liked the idea of exploring the island and the beaches but not sure if i could do it with a mask on. Indoor masks wouldnt have been too bad but outside in the heat might be too much. Sandals resort is a bit confusing as it seems like the staff need masks but the guests dont need to wear them anywhere except the indoor shops

Getting Excited

Had the cancellation email from BA for the 15th Aug. Booked October last year with a low risk, easy to get money back approach, thinking our chances were 20/80 and not expecting much. Have had some hopeful moments since but never told the kids as always thought it was unlikely. Now the email has come, I am feeling absolutely gutted, much worse than I thought I would. I don't think we'll be able to justify the likely high prices to go next summer hols (which is pretty much our only option) and I'm not sure I can even be bothered to book until there's some certainty over not having tests and quarantine. Sorry for everyone that's had their trips cancelled and their dreams shattered and good luck to everyone that has rebooked, I hope you all get to go soon.
