Wandering if anyone can help with the situation below:

Park reservation for Epcot,

Decide on water park instead on the day,

Want to go to Hollywood Studios on the evening after the water park.

a) Would we be able to go straight to Hollywood Studios?

or

b) Would we need to leave the water park, go to Epcot and then head to Hollywood studios?

If b) that would mean much more travel time and a grumpier family all around lol

I'm afraid it's (b).

In your current situation, because you have a reservation for Epcot, you would need to go to Epcot first, tap to enter, then you can head to Hollywood Studios (as long as this is after 2pm). You've got to go to the park that you have a reservation for first.

However, you can change your reservation from Epcot to Hollywood Studios (subject to availability, of course). The park reservations are not fixed. If you do that, then you can go straight to Hollywood Studios after the water park.

I was afraid that was the answer

Why afraid, it doesn’t sound like much of a chore to change the park reservation?

Not if HS is fully booked that day, which it often has been due to people trying to get RotR passes. Although this should become less of an issue over time (increasing capacity + reduced ride demand) so agree.

Well if it is full they wouldn’t be able to park hop either presumably?

Oddly enough, the park hop capacity and reservation capacity don't seem to be linked. I haven't seen anyone report they were refused hopping even when reservations are full.

It should be a non-issue once full capacity returns though.

Yes, I agree this is an issue if the OP changes their mind on the day and decides to go to a waterpark instead of Epcot and HS is fully booked so they can't change their reservation and they still want to visit HS in the evening even though its probably going to be busy. They'll then have to briefly go to Epcot first before going to HS.

Its a pity that the Skyliner isn't at the front of Epcot. Otherwise, the OP could tap into the entrance at Epcot and then get on the Skyliner over to HS. An extra ride!

Assuming OP wants to go back to their own hotel before going our for the evening they could go to epcot, tap in and walk to international gateway then sky line from there? Or if they're not fussy about going back to their hotel, bus from waterpark to a boardwalk hotel, tap in at International Gateway then skyline to HS?
