Isolating ahead of a negative PCR

.:.. on return to the uk 😭😭

Well thats a rock a hard place we are stuck between.

Paid balance today so everything is paid.
Travel 18/12 for 2 weeks.
Land on 2/1 and go back to my job in a school on the 4th!

My relaxed wahooooo status has gone to stress in a nanosecond

You should receive results back within 48 hours. I would test as soon as you land in UK.

Just checked and we had bought LFT day 2 tests because we were meant to go away in October - didnt cos of positive tests so were told we could use them 😭

4 of the7 of us had covid in October
A PCR could show as positive 😭

My 9 year old currently has COVID and her self isolation will only just be over when we go to the US.

So, yeah not looking good for her return test. Surely this has previously been a common scenario though. How did it work in the past for PCR return tests...

But uk want isolation until day 2 negative result

I dont know what happens for those who recently had covid

Sure, but if you have recently had COVID you may test positive still on a PCR. Not because of a new infection but a past one.

How does the UK return test handle that?

I think you have to test on day 2 after arrival.
