What would you do... paying Disney
Really don’t know what to do. We fly 22nd august so flights haven’t been cancelled yet, but Disney balance is due to be paid on Sunday.
I didn’t really want to cancel in case there’s a sudden turnaround and the borders open (unlikely I know but until the flights cancelled there’s still the tiniest of chances). Would you pay Disney the £5k now? I’d imagine if our flights are cancelled it’s going to be in a couple of weeks time as they’ve just cancelled up to 21st. How long do Disney take to refund? Edited at 11:28 AM. |

I think the chances of your trip going ahead are below remote. I personally would accept it now and would not pay the balance and would start to gather any other refunds.
But that is just me, and if you want to wait until there is literally zero chance then that is fine too. I think you can pay it and feel confident Disney won’t dither with a refund. My Disney refunds (there have been a fair fee of them!) have taken no more than a week. |

With the Biden administration about to drop the date for the return of UK/Europe travel, I would call Disney and ask them if you can push back the final payment date. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen some people on this forum report that they’ve been successful in asking. Hopefully it will be good news for your holiday!

I'm of the opinion don't cancel until absolutely necessary (postive thinking and all! ). There have been multple people saying disney will extend the final payment date. Contact them, i'm sure they will do this. You literally have nothing to lose. At the end of the day, if you have to cancel then you've not lost out on anything in theory. But, on the other had, if you cancel now before ultimately knowing then if (slim I know) US travel opens up in the short term you will no doubt feel awful about cancel.
Go with the positve mindset of delaying final payment and take a chance on your holiday actually happening. Good luck.

Thanks all. I’m going to call them to see if they’ll delay a few more days (already delayed from 8 weeks). If they won’t then I think I’ll pay on my credit card, by the time the bill comes in we should know whether it’s cancelled or not 😊 .

When I had to cancel last year I got my refund within 24 hours. Their systems may have changed since then but it was very straightforward- only wish other suppliers had been so efficient.
