Uber lost purse problem!

good morning all, just a question about using Uber after incident, yesterday after exiting Uber cab and on way to hotel room I realised I did not have my purse, could only have left it in Uber cab as had it with me in cab, contacted Uber and driver who said no purse in his cab, they didn’t seem to care, I had just under $700, Disney gift card from Virgin for $100 plus medication and make up, it was a Kipling wrist strap large purse, staying at Disney Coronado Springs resort and they couldn’t have been more helpful, have completed all reports they advised to do, so angry at myself as I’m usually a very careful person.
Question is that now I don’t feel I want to use Uber and was wondering if Lyft would good to use now, has anyone used them instead of Uber.
Luckily enough passports etc were in hotel room safe and I have enough money for rest of holiday, don’t usually have as much money on me but family and I were out shopping yesterday and typically I didn’t see much to buy, no sense in worrying about it now and not going to let it spoil my holiday but was wondering about using Lyft now.

I would not have expected a different outcome had you used Lyft.

Glad to hear that you will not let it spoil your holiday.

Ohhh what a nightmare,I suppose it's hard to prove you left it in the car and not dropped it as you got out.Uber and Lyft drivers often drive for both companies.

And, how do you know it was the driver, not the next customer.

I am sorry to hear that though

I regularly used Lyft over Uber when we were there (mainly because the Uber app was struggling to pick up our location at SSR and kept mistaking us for being at Disney Springs), it was also very marginally cheaper more often than not.

However, almost every driver we had was working for both Uber and Lyft and was picking up rides for both, so it's highly unlikely you're going to find any difference.

The OP didn't say it was the driver. She may not want to use Uber again because of their attitude over the incident rather than thinking the driver was a thief

It's simply the driver or next passenger who's taken it.

I would edge my bets its the next passenger that took it

when I contacted the driver he said he was on way with passenger to airport then when I called again he said he had no other passenger after me so all a bit strange, plus was dropped off at pick up point at Coronado Springs and security guy there said nothing found and he had been there all the time, I know I’ve left it in Uber as it was on my wrist when I entered cab but I took it off wrist and put it on my lap, I know it’s my own fault for doing that but definitely will be extra careful now

So its either the driver or the next passenger.

Unless of course shes now saying its been lost between the uber cab and the hotel room, which then its got nothing to do with uber.
