According to Hawaiinewsnow it just says travellers? So I’m assuming that as there are still flights going to Honolulu from Seattle, they don’t seem to stipulate what nationality those travellers have to be, just that they have a negative Covid test no more than 72 hrs prior to travelling.

I suspect the governor is bowing to the pressure of so many locals now unemployed with businesses that look to not recover for years.

I would think your insurance will cover though, as your flight to US was cancelled? And FCO advise may well still be in place at that time anyway...
I’m hoping my insurance will cover me as my Hawaiian flights actually cost more than I’ve been refunded by BA for the international flights. I’m just worried that insurance wouldn’t cover me if the airlines are offering a credit voucher? (I really don’t want a credit voucher as with mum now being very ill, I am unsure if and when I will want to travel now for the time being).

Its also knowing when to contact the insurance company, as it’s all still a long way off compared to those July holidays yet to come - I just hate the waiting!

Of interest there is a new court case from the US department of justice regarding the need to quarantine in Hawaii

I think that court case is what has forced the u-turn for the Hawaiian Governor. I actually feel sorry for the Hawaiians - they are an island nation with a small number of hospital beds, and if they choose to lose tourism to stay safe, I think that they should be allowed to make that decision - personally I think that should come above the constitutional rights of the mainland to travel there, particularly at a time when the mainlands Covid figures are out of control and Hawaii have a handle on theirs.

I wonder whether you should ring them now? I can’t see that they should refuse to refund as credit vouchers are no good to you?

The uncertainty is the worst thing isn’t it
