This is why I’m rapidly loosing hope for my October trip! Thinking of changing it to April or August next year now. Even April may be too soon. But BA won’t let me yet without additional charges.

I'm disappointed Disney haven't allowed 2020 trips to be moved into 2021 or 2022, maintaining free dining and any other promos and pricing etc.

On a personal level, I'm also disappointed. It would've been nice to keep all my benefits and just shift to a much later date - although that would've meant I'd have to determine when exactly we wanted to go in the future (we're not sure at the moment).

But I just can't see it happening. Why would it? It's not like Disney need to do that. I suspect there are lots of people wanting to visit next year and the year after. And people who have cancelled their booking this year are prepared to pay more to go next year. Plus Disney has cancelled all dining plans for next year as well - even paid ones - so they were hardly going to offer free ones for next year.

It's no different to anywhere else really. Lots of TAs and airlines are allowing you to cancel or change your booking but pay the new price, not the current price.

They're allowing the free gift cards to be transferred, just not free dining. With paid for dining plans not available they wouldn't allow free dining to be transferred.

I’m disappointed too but I assume Disney has faith that they’d be busy enough next year that they didn’t have to offer any incentive to reschedule over cancelling. They didn’t even tell us we could keep use gift card. It was only after people posting here that we all realised we could.

As awful as it feels to type this... I wouldn't remotely consider visiting Florida (or anywhere in the US) anytime soon. We are the only idiotic nation on Earth who managed to turn this pandemic into a political and cultural hot potato... and the results of that moronic approach become evident every passing day.
