Used booking.com on our west coast trips and never a problem, sometimes pay in advance, sometimes the day before and sometimes the day of check in ..l never a problem.
We also stay at HRH every year and when booking direct with them they only pre charge a night rate then you pay the rest at the hotel. Never had a problem .. but have never used booking.com at HRH but would with no hesitation from my past experiences x

My parents in law had to cancel their anniversary trip to Anglesey last weekend as Booking.com rang them to say that despite them booking ages ago their hotel was overbooked.

We have booked through them the last four years with no issues. In fact they were very helpful when we wanted to change the room type. We paid up front to fix currency but was allowed to cancel get refund right up until a few days before. We had to do that one year and had no problem with cancellation or the refund. I suppose no company is perfect and will be good and bad whoever one books through.

Keep in mind Booking.com deal with lots of different providers who all have very different procedures and processes.
Its not really comparable if you had an issue booking a cottage in Wales vs booking a Hotel in Universal. Hotel overbooking is often an issue at the provider end and nothing to do with booking.com who are just the middle man. Booking.com is great for Universal. Good prices and i have cancelled at no loss and rebooked to get cheaper prices as prices have been updated. Edited at 10:08 AM. |
