Disney front desk hold

Does anyone know how long it takes to clear?

I set my card up to my magic band on the 27/09. I wasn't told it would hold money, but immediately there was a $100 hold which was fine and i'm sure it didn't do it on our last visit but hey ho.

It then held everything I spent plus the original $100. So for me, it held roughly $400. When I realized I paid the account off, I wasn't planning on using my card to pay this bill and was going to pay cash so I hadn't really bargained on not having this money in my account. Not the end of the world mind as I transferred some over, but a pain a day or two before payday. At this point they told me it refreshes every 5 days and the hold will drop off.

I didn't spend anything after clearing it which was around the 1/10.

Anyway we checked out on the 7/10 and again they said it will clear immediately upon check out.

But today they still have $400 held in my Natwest account under pending. When I phoned the call centre they said it's up to 10 days from checkout.

I'm very confused?!

I have the money so I don't need it desperately, but 10 days after checkout seems an awful long time!

I had my Revolut card attached last month. It took 15 days for the first $100 deposit. They then made more authorisations every time my balance went over $100 but this dropped off after 7 days. The Disney system didn't seem to recognise that it had dropped off though as they didn't reauthorise it.

I wouldn't mind, but they honestly never told me about the holds and from googling it it's new for this year

Fortunately I had the money in the account, which is rare 2 days before payday!

There’s been a huge thread on here about it. It is New this year. We decided to not charge anything to our room this year.

I was at Beach Club for 10 nights last month and checked my room account every evening. I didn't have any holds put on my card. My total spend was about $300.

Last month I had 2 x $100 'holds' pending in my account and they disappeared after a week. The money never left my account.
