Cheap flights August or October, Do they exist for next year?
Hi all
We decided that because the exchange rate is so poor at the moment we were going to give Florida a miss next year but are now having second thoughts! Last year we had a BA flydrive leaving around 14th August for 16 nights for £1800 for 4 (2 adults and 2 teens) That was flying Manchester via LHR to Miami and included a suv. My question is do deals like that still exist for next year, as I had a quick look on BA website and everything seems to be a lot more. We are not bothered what Florida airport we fly into and can fly MAN, BHX or any London so are fairly flexible. We are looking at either August again or the October half term. We may be too late for August now but am still hopeful for October. I know a lot of us dibbers did the BA indirect flights last year. Did anyone get a deal like last year or have they gone for good? |

Were travelling 14th August LGW - MCO and 31st August MIA - LHR and have paid £2800 for flights with a Tahoe or similar car, we’re a family of 4 with kids who will be 12 and 14 next year. We paid £2900 last year flying to Miami and out of Miami. It’s not the cheapest but it’s under the 3k budget we always set ourselves.

Depends what you class as cheap. We've always aimed for sub 450 for indirect and sub 650 for direct if possible.
Conscious of prices and wanting to get something booked, this is what I booked last week through BA for summer 2020 for 2 Adults and 2 Children (11 and 13) for 17 days all in the school summer holidays for £4597: Saturday July 25th: LGW -> MCO (BA) direct Tuesday August 11th: MCO -> LGW (BA) direct + 3 nights @ Rosen Inn International (25-28 July) 2 nights @ Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal (28-30 July) with unlimited FOLP 11 nights @ Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort (30 July - 11 August) inc. family suite upgrade |

Last year there was a good choice of dates in August all for under £2000 for 4 including car on the indirect Miami flight. Looks like I’m either too late for those offers or they have just jumped in price now Thomas Cook are out of the equation. Might have another look in January.

There have been some good deals reported over on the price glitch thread but it’s gone quite quiet now (perhaps TC related). There may still be some decent BA prices but you need to search for them be flexible and be OK with a bit of Miami.
I booked for Jul/Aug when I found a decent fly drive price but will cancel and rebook (lose £175 deposit) if prices drop a lot.👍 |

We booked on day of release with BA. Going for a month, so 28 days car hire bumps it up. We paid £618ish each, with a standard SUV. Into Miami via Madrid, home direct to Heathrow (August, 2 adults 2 teens). Not seen anything as cheap as that since, but am conscious there might be good prices over Christmas...
