A year later... a date is set for my hysterectomy.

Last November and after twenty years of endometriosis I agreed to have a hysterectomy. I waited three months and on hearing nothing was told due to cuts, that operations such as mine were no longer carried out. It then became a little clearer in a letter that my op was cancelled because it was non life threatening. I had been removed from waiting list. Dibbers do not ask me where my mind took me but I did not take this any further, swept it under the carpet really and decided to sort it out " another time".
Then... out of blue just before we go away to the mouse this August I get a letter calling me for the operation...with about two weeks notice! I

sent a scathing email and asked for it to be rescheduled. I needed to sort my kids out with dh and work etc, as I have no-one else to help us. I also needed to get my head around the finality of it all over again. So November 23rd... a year later...it will finally happen.

Good luck. My Mum had a hysterectomy after a cyst the size of a full term baby was discovered! She says its the best thing to have happened!
Remember to take it easy after the op and make sure that you have pleny of help and support.

Thanks guys, dh is sorting it out with work today to have a couple of weeks off. As long as the kids are taken care of, I do not worry about anything else.

i had mine in 2004 and it was certainly one of the best things I ever did, felt so much better after the Op

This is what DH did when I had mine (19) years ago now. We don't have anyone to help us either, and DD was 3 at the time. You seem to work out a routine, and things relax. Good luck and take care xx
