Sadly it could have been anyone in the 'chain' who did this.
Unlikely that it went missing 'because' somebody wanted to ransack it because how would they have known in advance that it contained valuables? So it looks like it got left somewhere and because it was lying around waiting to be processed somebody just opened it and had a field day. When thousands of people nationwide are employed by delivery companies you can't help but have the occasional bad apple in the barrel. Minor reassurance I know but when it happens with our delivery drivers they always seem to get found out eventually. I hope you get decent compensation from your insurance |

Hopefully insurance claim will help to replace lost items. The issue lies with replacing holiday memories if your camera was to still contain the memory card with all your holiday photo's on. This happened to a friend of mine a few years back and all the family on trip and all their photo memories gone.

I was wondering if the travel insurance is no good if your home insurance might work.
Horrible situation for you. |

The thing is it could have happened anywhere in the process - from TSA in the states, or the delivery company here in the U.K. you have never know - just try to learn from it for next time (pack things like cameras and watches in hand luggage where possible.
Absolutely gutted for you though, I hope you manage to get what’s right

Spoke to the travel insurance company and they said it was a valid claim so it’s now in for assessment.
