Afternoon tea at the gf

Has anyone done this recently ? Do you chose your menu when you are seated . We are looking at the $35 one .

Tim and Jen Tracker did this earlier this year got to say I wasn't impressed, not fine dining like I thought it would be.

The Waldorf Astoria looked much nicer.

We did a few years ago (about 5 I think) for the 2 of us I paid $135 and we still laugh about it today, what a joke, very poor selection of finger sandwiches, I opened one and sniffed it, a CM was near by so I asked what it was and he said curry paste, I said really curry paste and he said yes, curry is your national dish! Tiny tiny very sweet cakes, tasted like chemical shaving foam, the scones were so very small and served with lemon curd and spray cream, I said to the CM, excuse me but I thought this was meant to be clotted cream, in the mean time it had disintegrated on the plate, we asked for a top up on the small tea pot and they said sure but that will be extra. The tables were so close together I was knocking elbows with the girl on the next table.

Yeah , I’d watch both but didn’t know if disney had upped their game after their visit.

We are taking my Mum needs she going to need to rest throughout the day so I thought this might be a nice treat , I’ve considered the use of spa at GF for $25 each , but not sure if my mum would like it , I know I would lol .

Going to go against the grain here, went last year and also the year before and really enjoyed afternoon tea at the GF. We had the Bedfordshire Tea with champagne added. The sandwiches were tasty, as were the other offerings. Service was good and as a none tea drinker it was a funny touch for them to serve my Diet Coke out of a tea pot! I would go back and it made a nice day getting a break from MK with a wonder around the hotel before getting back on the monorail.

Oh ! I envisaged a quiet place, white table cloths and neat finger sandwiches with “traditional” fillings. Then tiny versions of traditional cakes !
(Like The Ritz etc).

Definitely won’t be going.
