We’re going for 4 nights in October. Been a couple of times before but mostly with work (school) to Brathay Hall. I love the little cafe near to Ambleside that sells the choc dipped ice-cream. Problem is I’ve only ever eaten it in the pouring rain!

I've only been once which was a few years ago, and loved it! We were very lucky and got mostly great weather during our stay. Still dreaming about the gingerbread from Grasmere so please go and try some!

As we live near Keswick ... I’m biased as I think this is the best area of the Lake District.

It is a gorgeous place to live and visit. I travel all over Cumbria with my job and the scenery is just lovely. Unfortunately I don’t get as much time as I like to stop and enjoy it all.

Have a wonderful time

Dawn

Love the Lakes. Only live an hour away so go there quite often. Like Keswick and Windermere. Some lovely walks. The scenery is beautiful, even on a rainy day. Lovely country pubs too. If you can go to Aira Force at Penrith. Lovely waterfall and walks all the way round it. Nice tea room. It belongs to National Trust and the walk is superb. Wear a stout pair of boots though. Enjoy.

We loved it, took out westie and she was allowed everywhere, in the pubs on the ferry at Windermere and in most shops. She slept in the hotel with us and came down for breakfast in the mornings. Walked to the top of Windermere which nearly killed me lol, went to the waterfalls at Ambleside which were lovely 😊

We don’t live far from Keswick, one of my favourite places to walk about and just take everything in.

Walk around Buttermere is probably my favourite easy walk in this country. Stunning scenery.

Have a fantastic time OP
