In accordance with Proclamation—Suspension of Entry as Immigrants and Nonimmigrants of Certain Additional Persons Who Pose a Risk of Transmitting Coronavirus, effective at 11:59 p.m. eastern daylight time on March 16, 2020, the entry into the United States is suspended for most individuals, other than United States citizens and lawful permanent residents, who have been physically present within the United Kingdom, excluding overseas territories outside of Europe, or the Republic of Ireland within 14 days of travel to the United States. I don't think anyone is planning on trying to go on holiday there until this is lifted though. It's just about being prepared for when that time comes. I doubt you'd even get near a flight if this was still in place

Yes I realise that. I think if you need to renew it why would you do it now? just wait until nearer the time. I guess the Qs will change like it did with foot and mouth asking the Q. imo

I agree why would u wait til nearer the time? As soon as you either update your passport or your old esta runs out get a new one, if anything goes wrong it takes on average 4 to 6 months to get an appointment at the US Embassy in London

I suspect you will find it very difficult to get an appointment in the US embassy atm. And for some time to come. Can you still get your passport renewed atm? At lot of the questions are hard to answer. And there is no right way of doing it presently, if you what to apply for an esta please do makes no odds to me. Holidays to the USA unfortunately won’t be for sometime, possibly next year if we lucky. imo
