Yes, that’s what the PCR test is. A rapid test most likely won’t be acceptable as they aren’t as accurate as PCR. I’m having one done next week for travel to Dubai.

DH and I are desperate for a Vegas trip next year, seen some amazing prices for April/May, not sure whether to risk it or not!

Not sure where you're located but I'm going to the Mews Practice in Guildford. You don't even need to get out of the car which is extra handy as there's 4 of us! Results are usually back within 48 hours.

Probably nowhere near you but Boots also offer it through Pure Health which is a UAE company. Not available in my area though.

When are you thinking of going?

At best people will still need to quarantine on return or even on arrival in the US until you have a negative test result several days after arrival. This is more likely the scenario on returning to the UK. Having a negative test going out does not mean you won't catch it whilst you are there. As the US rate is a lot higher than other counties which require you to quarantine coming back I cannot see this improving this year. May be by February at the earliest I reckon, would love to be wrong though

The rates are lower than the MSM would have you believe -

Orange County and Osceola County are showing per 100k cases of 32, 40.

My local town here, Nuneaton and Bedworth are recording per 100k cases of 282.

We have booked tests at Boots through Pure Health (The official UAE company). We live locally so have booked 8 tests in for us.

You’ll have to let us know how it all goes (airport etc)

Doesn't matter what the rates are for parts of mainland US is the overall rate that matters and it still too high...
