I have bought mini versions of everything , hot dogs, burgers, pies, cakes etc.
It will be the only time we see them so wanted it to be fun.
Lovely idea!

We celebrate a Swedish Christmas on the 24th so will have the traditional buffe/smorgasbord (“julbord”) for lunch (and help yourself to leftovers for tea).

Cold fish: pickled herring, cold cooked salmon, gravadlax
Centrepiece: Oven baked breaded gammon
Warm: meatballs, mini sausages, anjovis potato gratin, sticky pork belly bites, potatoes
Greens: winter coleslaw

For afters: chocolates and sweets

Any one else do this?
We always cook at a maple-mustard glazed ham on the 23rd and then have ham egg, pineapple and chips on Christmas Eve.

Our Christmas Eve dinner is all Nigella.

We have ribs marinaded and cooked in cranberry, sweet chilli and soy sauce along with juice from a clementine and a lime. To go with it we have fully loaded potato skins. Both are minimal effort.

For dessert we have Nigellas Rocky Road.

This has been our tradition for about the last 8 years, maybe longer and the kids wouldn't let us have anything else now as it wouldn't feel like Christmas.

I'll be cooking up a picky finger food dinner. Duck toast, spring rolls, tampura prawns. I also have a filo pastry wheel stuffed with spinach and feta from Lidls here in Cyprus its absolutely lush

We normally go out for Thai food but our favourite restaurant is in Tier4 so not this year. So instead we are going to Burger King for our once a year visit.

Usually a takeaway or a meal out. Still in tier 2 so we’re booked into the local pub it’s amazing and I know I’m already having tempura prawns to start and steak and ale pie for main 🤪😂
