Just cancelled our trip In May to River Mayo with TUI And rebooked for Cape Verde (Boa Vista) next August
Staying at the Riu Touareg
Anyone got any tips

We stayed at the Riu Touareg about 5 years ago. It's an amazing hotel.

The one tip I would give you is don't go in the sea at the hotel. The waves are really dangerous and we saw a few people injured as a result. If you want to swim in the sea then it's worth taking a trip and spending the day at one of the Beach Bars/Lounges just south of Sal Rei. Bali beds were cheap for the day and the sea was much calmer.

Looking to book some tours with Giggling Geckos so should get a chance to swim in the sea then

We went to Cape Verde Boa Vista last June .
We stayed at the new riu palace.
It’s the sort of place to go All inclusive as there’s not loads of restaurants etc .
We did do a tour with tui and we would go back .
Very windy island so had to rethink my wardrobe.
