As above.^

Disney's Park Hopper ticket is a different ticket to Disney's Ultimate ticket. You don't have a Disney Park Hopper ticket, you have a Disney Ultimate ticket. (Note the capital letters).

The Disney Ultimate tickets allow you to hop from park to park on the same day. They include the same park hopping benefits as the Park Hopper tickets.

So, the person on the phone was technically correct if they said that you don't have a Park Hopper ticket. However, your ticket is actually better than that and does include park hopping, unlimited waterpark access, mini-golf and so on.

You can "upgrade" Disney tickets, although in effect this means swapping one ticket for another ticket and paying the difference in price. I don't think you can downgrade.

The only thing you can upgrade an Ultimate ticket to is an Annual Pass. Changing an Ultimate ticket to a Park Hopper ticket would be a downgrade.

Yes thank you, I realised after I had posted.

I am thinking of upgrading the 14 day Ultimate tickets I have for the September trip to an annual pass as we are now thinking about going again in April 2020 (for my five-oh!) rather than December 2020.

Is it easy to do? Could I do it now or should I wait until I am there in September. I booked hotel and tickets directly with Disney but no dining plan.

I've never actually upgraded an Ultimate ticket to an Annual pass myself, so I'm afraid I can't help. Other DIBBers have done it though. Apparently, the 'upgrade' price can be somewhat variable depending on which CM you speak to.

Claudette, your upgrade has to be done in person unfortunately but easy to do when out there, as mentioned though shop around big variables on upgrade pricing due to them having to work out how much your Ultimate is worth.

Thank you, I started separate thread to ask the question.
