Logistics Help - Split Stay+ Free Dining
Hello!
We are in the early stages of planning a Sept 2021 trip, we're thinking 9 nights. We stayed at POFQ last September on free dining and loved it, we're hoping to do the same again this time (providing free dining dates work in our favour, fingers crossed!), but the dream plan is to spend our last night at a Deluxe resort. Which resort will depend on how well our saving goes, but I'm just trying to figure out the best way to book it when the time comes. If we get free dining, and book our main resort for 9 nights, can we then call up several months later and just change the reservation for our last night? Will that mess up the dining? If we are booking the trip around end of April (when free dine should be released) we probably won't want to decide on our deluxe night until the end of the year at least, I'm worried that if we have to make separate bookings then we won't be able to get the free dine on the last night. Make sense? Any wisdom appreciated! |

You won’t get free dining on your second hotel unfortunately x

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but Disney would class this as a separate booking so free dining would finish at midnight when you check out of hotel 1.

Dangit! I was afraid of that.
Okay so part two, just to make sure I've got it: Let's say we check out of POFQ on a Thursday morning and check into GF the same day - our POFQ dining would still be valid until Thursday night? We'd be flying out mid-afternoon on the Friday so would likely only need to cover breakfast on property, so maybe we'll be okay after all, we just factor a meal into our deluxe savings. The credits would expire at midnight on the hypothetical Thursday? |

Yes
So the Dining expires the midnight of your Checkout date, so it would be good for your evening meal at GF. Infact we did exactly the same in our recent trip where we had free dining at CSR and on out checkout day went over to AKL for a single night. We sill had a load of snacks and a few meals remaining on our dining plan so we hit the snacks and quick service at AKL to clear them all - who could say no to a good few boxes of zebra domes

Yes.
Due to me being disorganised, we had to tag two nights at the Animal Kingdom Lodge onto the end of our 10-nights-with-DDP at the Beach Club last Summer. We used our last Table Service credits after we'd checked out of the BC and checked into AKL at the Cali Grill and, when we got back to the AKL that evening, we bought a few QS meals and a load of snacks to stick in the fridge and help keep us going through the next two days! |

Yes we’ve done that before. The bulk of the holiday at CBR with free dining and the last night at the GF. We only had to buy lunch the following day as we’d used a snack credit to get something for breakfast our last day.

Hi can see what you want to do but in reality is it worth the hassle to move and pack etc for just one night.

If you plan on spending the last day around the deluxe hotel then consider club level, its great and includes all snacks and drinks.

On the topic of logistics - make sure you make use of bell services to move your luggage, as they will happily collect if from your room and ship it over to the next resort for you. Once you get to the other side call bell services from your new room and they will bring it up to you once its arrived.
